On Saturday May 9, 2020 Stony Brook FD held an in-service work detail and training on their new twin 2019 Spartan Engines to replace their outdated 1992 twin KME engines. These new engines afford the fire service a vast array of increased safety capabilities as well as meeting the latest requirements set forth by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA). Although the process was a large undertaking to complete in one day, it was relatively quick work with the many members that turned out to assist. The dedication and hard work put forth by all to serve and protect the fire district is second to none! On behalf of the The Eagle Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1 and Engine Co. 1 we would like to thank the Chiefs and Commissioners as well as the committee members. We applaud your tireless effort and countless hours to ensure these engines will functionally and effectively serve our department and the community for many years to come. Thank you!
